DIVERSITY Its more than black and white

From teachers to administrators to personnel, we can train your staff to better deal with the issues of diversity by enhancing their knowledge and self awareness. We will discuss and examine some of the universal concepts of diversity. You will become aware of your negative stereotypes that can be limiting your ability to connect with others. You will learn to recognize different styles of communication and how not to be judgmental of them.

Participants will learn and understand:

The female world view versus the male world view.
Linear, Circular and consensus methods of communication
Gender differences and expectations in communication
Stereotypes; the bad and the good
The effects of poverty and self esteem in todays world

Conflict Management and Resolution

You can use conflict management and resolution skills when you are dealing with parents, administrators, co-workers or students. Personality clashes will diminish when you learn to recognize and respond to other peoples styles. Learn how to stop conflicts before they start. Figure out how to end the ones that are currently in play. And learn when it is a no win situation and both parties need to walk away. Also, find ways to control your anger and defuse others anger. This one day of training can help you resolve old issues and give you techniques to prevent new ones from flaring up.

This course will help you start and maintain successful relationships with businesses in your community. You will learn how to set up meetings and network with large and small organizations. How to get the students involved so you can show the community the impact and success of this bridge. Also how to show companies that you have something to give them in return for their service, besides a heartfelt thank-you. And remembering organizations can give you more than just money.
